Greenways contain the trails and open spaces used by walkers, bikers, hikers, bird watchers, orienteers, naturalists, wildflower photographers, wildlife observers, canoers, kayakers, campers, equestrians, scouts, 4-H clubs, families, community associations, social clubs, and everyone who enjoys and appreciates unspoiled natural beauty. Whew! That's a lot of people. Hope I didn't forget anyone. Greenways also protect our wildlife and sensitive environmental areas, and that's a lot of animals and plants too. |

People have the power to influence and implement our statewide "Greenways" plan. If we are to protect greenways from developers and some county officials, we need an effective way to communicate with each other. We need to be able to muster "grass roots" support from everyone who wants to save our trails and open spaces. We're members of a variety of clubs and organizations that use trails and greenways for recreation, so we're taking the lead by building a "GREENWAYS NETWORK." Will you help us? |

It is the electronic equivalent of the old fashioned "PHONE TREE". Instead of trying to build one big list of people, we are trying to build a list of GROUPS of people. If you maintain any type of mailing list, even if it's an informal group, please join our "E-MAILTREE". This will enable us to alert you when issues threaten our greenways and trails. You will be able to pass the information along to the people in your group. Together, we can distribute crucial information to save our trails and greenways! |

Just fill out the bottom of this page with as much information as you want to provide. We will e-mail you anytime we identify a situation that you might like to know about. All you have to do is forward the e-mail to your mailing list. If you don't belong to a group, please consider joining one that supports your interests. If you aren't the person who manages your group's mailing list, please ask that person to sign up. It is our hope to use the Internet to make it easier for everyone to participate in saving our greenways and trails. If you have additional questions, e-mail green@riva.net. Thank you for your help! |
